Having passed through 153 countries since 2012, the road took Drew Binsky to Iran in 2018, a country shrouded in mystery and often known to the world through murky images propagated by media.
Drew is an American travel blogger, a full-time video maker, content creator, golfer with a handicap of 5 and a 2X Guinness World Record holder. He grew up in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona and graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a double-major in economics and entrepreneurship.
Traveling to Iran helped Drew shake all misconceptions and stereotypes about the country as he believes that visiting the country was a life changing and eye opening experience:
“Unfortunately, the media makes Iran look extremely evil, when in reality, it is absolutely safe to visit, and the locals here are the most humble, honest and hospitable people that I’ve met in all of my travels. I am not joking!!”
Drew Loved 7 Things About Iran the Best.
He experienced Persian wrestling, also known as Zoorkhaneh Rituals. Zoorkhaneh is an ancient Persian sport club. Zoorkhaneh rituals (Varzesh-e- Bastani) are one of the oldest types of martial arts, dating back to the 7th century, when the soldiers practiced the ritual to increase their physical power.
Persian Food also secured a spot in Drew’s favorites list. While it might sound as plain as the four letters making up the word, food in Iran comes in different styles, resulting from different details and costumes that condition its creation, and is served in a unique way. This is why it is better to try Persian food with the locals.
