New York Times has introduced Iran as the Jewel of the Middle East in its list of 52 places to go in 2019.
In this list, Iran sits beside other 51 tourist destinations, such as Los Angeles, Munich, Las Vegas, New York City, Lyon, Marseilles, Hong Kong and etc, which travel lovers shouldn’t miss in 2019.
Despite tensions between Iran and President Trump, New York Times, an official Newspaper of the United States, considers Iran as an adventurous destination for tourists in 2019.
It mentions several highlights which travelers should visit in Iran: “The monumental ruins of ancient Persia, the spectacular, centuries-old mosques of Shiraz and Isfahan, the Grand Bazaar and Golestan Palace in the bustlingmetropolis of Tehran”. Another compelling reason for traveling to Iran in 2019 is “a major exhibition scheduled to open at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, a popular hangout for young Iranians. “Portrait, Still-life, Landscape” (Feb. 21 to April 20) will take over the entire museum, with a selection of about 500 works, including pieces by Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko and Marcel Duchamp, as well as about 40 Picassos recently discovered in the museum’s storage facilities (much of the collection has been kept under wraps in the decades since the 1979 revolution)”.
Despite the recent growing political rift between Washington and Tehran, the American citizens are not prohibited from traveling to Iran and Americans can travel to Iran as part of an organized tour. In 2019, you can expect several activities to do in Iran, such as: going to Zoorkhaneh to see traditional Iranian sport, having a reviving day in an Iranian bath house or having dinner with locals in Isfahan.
