How can I Extend My Visa in Iran?
You simply need to take your documents to one of the immigration and passport offices in one of the major cities. We recommend going there as early as possible as these offices tend to get pretty crowded and you will have to wait long.
- Once at the office, find the desk where you can apply for visa extension.
- Fill out the visa extension application form, provide your personal information, indicate for how long you need an extension and the reason why you extend.
- Ask the officer for your account number and name and go to the Meli Bank to pay the fee. (You can ask the officer for the bank’s location, and if the bank employees have problem understanding English, simply say Visa and they will take care of it).
- Go back to the immigration office and present all your documents along with your payment receipt. You may probably need to answer a few questions and wait maybe a few minutes, hours and in rare cases a couple of days, and have your Iran visa extended.
Note: Visa extension process is the same everywhere in Iran, the amount of time it takes may vary due to the work load of the office where you have applied or extra checks that are run randomly and occasionally.
